Quechua, the ancient language of the Incan Empire, and modern language of much of the Andes mountains, appears in the Star Wars Universe. LucasArts sound designer Ben Burtt created Jabba the Hutt’s speech by listening to a Quechua language learning tape, then using many of the words he heard to create “Huttese.”
