Meet the last living person to have been born a subject of Queen Victoria. When Queen Victoria died on January 22, 1901, she was head of a vast empire. Violet Brown was born in March of 1900, in Jamaica. She is a living link to the time when Britannia ruled the waves and Queen Victoria reigned as queen over about one-fourth of the world’s population. Interestingly, Violet’s head of state is still the queen of England – Queen Elizabeth II.
