rhea & saturn’s rings, photographed by cassini, 28th march 2010.

both gifs have 9 frames, each a composite of  3 images (shot through red, green, and blue filters in sequence). images in the first are aligned to rhea, and in the second to saturn’s rings. 

in both images, the small moon janus (left side of the rings) and the barely-visible prometheus (left of rings at bottom) remain unaligned.
