Su Xiaoxiao (482 - 501 CE) was a Chinese courtesan and poet who lived during the Southern Qi Dynasty and was well-regarded for both her beauty and intellect. She was best known for her poetry, not her profession. She died at the age of 19 due to a terminal illness, and when she saw her death on the horizon, she dedicated her remaining time to writing poetry and sharing her beauty with the world. Her tomb survived until the Cultural Revolution, and she is the subject of many plays and stories through today.
