Plutos Sputnik Planum
Is there an ocean below Sputnik Planum on Pluto? The unusually smooth 1000-km wide golden expanse, visible in the featured image from New Horizons, appears segmented into convection cells. But how was this region created? One hypothesis now holds the answer to be a great impact that stirred up an underground ocean of salt water roughly 100-kilometers thick. The featured image of Sputnik Planum, part of the larger heart-shaped Tombaugh Regio, was taken last July and shows true details in exaggerated colors. Although the robotic New Horizons spacecraft is off on a new adventure, continued computer-modeling of this surprising surface feature on Pluto is likely to lead to more refined speculations about what lies beneath.

According to UNESCO, the site of San Agustín in Colombia is host to the largest collection of megalithic sculptures in South America. San Agustín is a massive necropolis strewn with some 40 burial mounds and 600 stone statues fashioned from volcanic rock. These statues range in height from only a few inches to around 20 feet! They depict grotesque monsters, club-wielding warriors and animals such as eagles, jaguars and frogs. The vast majority of the monuments date to between the 00s to 700s CE. Sadly, little about the site is understood – why it was created, what kept it in use for over 600 years, and why the site was finally put out of use.

After visiting the Soviet Union in 1930, Massachusetts-born and reared Burton K. Wheeler, Democratic Senator from Montana, urged that the United States abandon its isolationist policy and extend diplomatic recognition to Russia. He had learned that Britain and France were buying U.S. cotton and selling it to the Russians, and thought that doing business directly with Russia might help pull the United States out of the growing depression.
When a newspaper in Red Lodge, Montana, said that wheeler ought to be deported for urging recognition of a Communist government, the Senator exclaimed: “Where would you deport me – back to Massachusetts?”

Um objeto anômalo apareceu na frente do Sol em uma imagem captada pelo satélite STEREO da NASA.
A internet ficou alvoroçada na semana passada com a ideia de visitantes extraterrestres após a imagem, que foi feita pelo pelo satélite Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory da agência espacial, apareceu nas mídias sociais.
De acordo os registros, a esfera anômala surgiu na filmagem durante o último dia 15 de novembro. Alguns espectadores comentaram que parte da filmagem foi desativada ao longo dos dias seguintes.
Enquanto alguns utilizadores da Internet saudaram a descoberta como uma evidência de algo excepcional, outros mencionaram que o OVNI poderia ser apenas uma falha gráfica.
A NASA, por sua vez, publicou uma página em seu site explicando como STEREO pode produzir imagens dessa natureza.
“As imagens do telescópios Heliospheric Imager (HI) são construídos a partir de um grande número de exposições somadas, isso resulta em ‘exposições duplas’, onde os dados de vários telescópios aparecem na mesma imagem”, diz o artigo.
Há pouca dúvida de que a imagem poderia ser uma evidência de ET, e sim uma anomalia consistente com fotografias combinadas de dois satélites.
