from the “Tomba dei Leopardi,” in Tarquinia, Italy, these colorful frescos are an excellent example of how the Etruscans were influenced by Greek art. Circa 400s BCE.

this is a fascinating cross between greek and egyptian.

Sorry, but to clear up any confusion: the Etruscans art was mainly influenced by ancient Greek styles. We know there was some influence of ancient Egyptian art. More influence of ancient Greek art. But Etruscans developed their own art style, separately and distinctly from any other Mediterranean culture.

Their art cannot be summed up as a mishmash of two other cultures’ art. It was its own thing.
