Archaeologists excavating a group of Pleistocene stone huts in Spanish caves were surprised to find fossilized cave-lion claw bones – but nothing else from the great beasts. Everything inside the caves were human-placed. So the claw bones must have served some function. The researchers interpretation is that the Pleistocene people decorated their homes with bear rugs, complete with claws on their paws. Tacky!
