The world’s largest turtle ever recorded was a leatherback turtle that washed up Harlech Beach, Wales, in 1988. It was estimated to be 100 years old. When it was found, the turtle was almost 9 feet long, and weighed an enormous 2,016 lbs! Sadly, it was found dead, having drowned after getting tangled in fishing lines.
