Why is dynasty in quotation marks? Because it was maternal? Because if it was a paternal, you know they wouldn’t have done that shit.
The word “dynasty” is in quotations because they left no name, no written records, no oral history. The concept of a dynasty might be completely alien to how this high-status maternal line thought of themselves. Using quotations was intended to be respectful. However, my apologies to anyone who was upset about my punctuation.
