In 1953, Mr. and Mrs. Rosenberg were executed for spying for the Soviet Union. After the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, KGB agents admitted that Julius Rosenberg had given them secrete information, but it was not about the bomb. And Ethel Rosenberg was not involved at all. In 2001, Ethel’s main accuser (her own brother) admitted he had lied about her involvement. Prosecutors had asked him to lie, because they wanted the threat of Ethel’s possible execution to make Julius confess.
